About Ed Young Jr
Ed Young Jr. of Grapevine, Texas has established himself as a dedicated and dynamic spiritual leader with a gift for communicating God's word. He currently serves as the Founding and Senior Pastor of Fellowship Church, one of the largest religious communities in the country. In his role, Ed Young Jr. provides spiritual guidance for the congregation and oversees several other church campuses. The church currently maintains six physical locations—Midtown Miami; South Miami; and Grapevine, Dallas, Plano, and Fort Worth, Texas—as well as an interactive website where worship services are broadcast live.
Throughout his ministry at Fellowship Church, Ed Young Jr. has stressed the importance of age-appropriate teaching. To that end, he provides separate services for children in 5th grade and younger and encourages parents to send their children to these sessions. Teachers explain lessons from the Bible in ways the youngsters can understand, and help them see how Christ's teachings are relevant to their lives.
Pastor Young established Fellowship Church in a small, rented office space; however, it was not long before the congregation had to utilize a second space as well, in order to accommodate its increasing numbers. At this time, Pastor Young briefly implemented the innovative idea of “simultaneous service,” which involved him preaching at one location while the other group participated in musical activities. Growing attendance over the next few years prompted him to seek out an even larger location, and today the church maintains six physical locations, and plans to open more. In addition, Fellowship Church also organizes a diverse array of activities and ministries designed to engage people during all stages of life. The Grapevine campus also features a bookstore, coffee bar, and an outdoor baptistry.
Ed Young Jr. holds a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
